Update on the Matchbox Collection rulebooks

Dear travelers,
In these five years as a board game publisher, there has been a lot to learn, and as many of you know, we have been learning along with you, and thanks to your support towards our titles.
We believe that games are not products but binding experiences which we have always crafted with passion and love. Thundergryph is a small team of people that are striving to get better, and in many processes, we also work with agencies and freelancers to improve the games we create. The rules in the Matchbox Collection went through copywriting and proofing as any other game we have done, and we are sorry that regardless of the work, these were not clear to all.
We understand that the rulebook is the only way we have to communicate with you, to make sure you can enjoy the experience as we envisioned it, and to all of you that trusted us, including Tom Vasel that supported us by getting a copy of the Matchbox Collection and expressed discontent online, we are sorry that the way we communicated with you was unclear.
When Matchbox was fulfilled, some comments caught our attention regarding how the rulebooks were not clear enough to get a good grasp of the rules. We were sorry to hear that and found ourselves rethinking the whole process of how we handle rulebooks. Since then, we immediately took note of your opinions and changed the way we handle the creation, proofing, and translation of our rulebooks, by hiring new professionals and freelancers. We contacted Jonathan Cox (that you know from JonGetsGames), which will be creating our rulebooks for all our future releases, and we asked him to create Matchbox Collection’s rules from scratch to make up for the current version. We will keep you updated about this process, which should take a few more days, and share the rules with you to make sure that we have communicated how to play the Matchbox Collection in the best way possible.
The logistics behind something like this could be difficult and we want to take small steps to understand the situation better.
For all of you that will want to download a new set of printable rules, we will be committing to plant five trees for each rulebook set you will download. Eventually, if any of you wants a physical version printed by us, we will analyze the situation and share our plan with you.
For our future releases, we will make sure to pay extra attention to the delivery of our rulebooks, and we are actively working to create a bigger and diverse playtester network that we will be able to announce very soon.

We hope you are doing well and we are extremely happy to see all of your reactions to this collection of games. Your photos and comments are really amazing, thank you!
Our fulfillment is nearly done and almost all of you should have received the game by now. We would love to hear from you which games you have played! You can find our poll below if you’d like to share this with us.
United Kingdom fulfillment
More than two months ago we have sent all the required documentation requested by the HMRC to register Thundergryph as an Importer for the UK.
We requested more information this week and it looks like there is a bottleneck at this stage as many companies are trying to do the same.
As soon as we have confirmation of our UK EORI code we will send our stock from Spain to Spiral Galaxy Games in order to get the orders fulfilled from within the United Kingdom.
We would like to remind you, as we have done in our previous update, that we will take care of all taxes and duties for our backers from the UK, and you will not have to pay any additional fee to receive the games.

Fulfillment update and live stream today!

We hope you are doing well. We are very excited that some of you are sharing your thoughts about the Matchbox Collection, and it is extremely inspiring to read so many great comments of surprise and excitement from you all. We are so glad that you feel proud of it!

We would like to update you about the current stage of fulfillment:
Europe:
96% of the orders have been delivered or are awaiting collection at the requested point. All remaining orders are in transit or being prepared.
Some of the orders have been sent back to our warehouse despite the fact that the address was correct. We are sorry about this issue and we understand that sometimes this can happen. Thanks for your understanding while waiting for your games to arrive.
In case of orders with big volumes, you will receive one to three packages to ensure the safety of your order. In some cases you will receive your order divided into two shipments from two different warehouses, depending on the existing stock in each warehouse.
United Kingdom:

USA & Canada: QML has rapidly sent 87,6% of all orders, which have been delivered or are in transit. The rest is being prepared.
For obvious reasons, the games will take a bit more time to arrive in Canada. Thanks for your patience!

Australia & NZ:

Asia:
Shipments and deliveries started last month. As you know, in some countries it may take a bit longer to receive your games.
ROW:
Starting next week and in a time span of 15 days, we will start sending these orders.

Matchbox Collection Fulfillment update

Hello travelers!
We are so excited to be so close to wrapping up this project and we literally can’t wait to hear what you think about this new collection of games! We want to sincerely thank you for your patience and support.
Here is all the information regarding the fulfillment in each region. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them in this update.
All our fulfillment centers will be packing your orders with new custom boxes that we have created for the fulfillment. These boxes are triple-layered to ensure the games will arrive in perfect conditions.
If you have ordered any additional items, these will be placed in a single box. If the volume is too high, the games will be divided into two boxes that will eventually travel together.
Europe:
Our fulfillment partner started yesterday. With the current pace, we expect the fulfillment to be done in around 12 days. We have seen some Spanish backers receiving the games already!
USA & Canada:
The Vessel (Maersk Antares) should arrive today in New York. After that, the games will move by land until they reach QML in Orlando.
They will be organizing all the orders and putting us in their queue. At this point, it is too soon to know exactly when they will deliver, but you can follow QML on Twitter to be notified.
QML will also be sending an email before fulfillment to confirm your address.
Australia & NZ:
We expect fulfillment to start in around 10 days. If there will be any important changes to the schedule we will let you know.
Asia:
VFI did their best to deliver before CNY, but logistics and how to pack the games was fundamental for the success of this fulfillment operation. Everything is not clear and ready yet, we will have to wait until February 22nd for the start of the fulfillment process.
United Kingdom:
We have been working on all the paperwork required to be able to import the games from Spain and start the fulfillment with Spiral Galaxy directly within the UK.
The approval of the documents should take around 2 weeks, but we are glad to announce that we will take care of all the taxes and duties and you will not have to pay any additional fee to receive the games.
ROW:
Will be shipped from Europe as soon as our partner finishes the fulfillment of the European orders.

Matchbox Collection Vessels tracking

Hello travelers!
It’s finally time for this update! With the holidays and the Chinese New Year being very close it has been quite more difficult than usual, but all the vessels are out now. Here you can find the updated schedule and the tracking links to follow your games!
The containers could eventually change Vessels, we will be monitoring closely and if this happens we will let you know.

Darwin’s Journey, live on Kickstarter!
Darwin’s Journey is a worker placement euro game where players recall Charles Darwin’s memories of his adventure through the Galapagos islands, which contributed to the development of his theory of evolution.
With an innovative worker progression system, each worker will have to study the disciplines that are a prerequisite to perform several actions in the game, such as exploration, correspondence, and discovering specimens in order to contribute to the human knowledge of biology.
